Well, tonight is the last night I'll sleep in this house. We'll go home with my Mom after church tomorrow, leave the girls there and come over here to wash sheets and stuff, and the movers come Monday. (I haven't had "movers" since our last move with the Navy when I was 13!) They pack us up Monday and Tuesday, load the truck Wednesday, and unload in Magnolia on Thursday. If we go down Wed. in time to register the girls for school, they can meet their teachers on Friday before school starts Monday. And I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.
So obviously we decided not to homeschool, at least not right now. I still have a desire to, but was fretting about it, and going back and forth, and Mike said, let's stick to our original plan and try the public school until they give us a reason not to. Aside from my thinking the curriculum I looked at looked like fun, our reasons for homeschooling were based on hearsay, and we decided that wasn't fair. So we're going to give it a quarter and go from there.
We really are buying the latest house we picked out! It almost didn't happen because of something on the inspection, but we worked it out, and we close on Thursday. Our house here, however...is not rented out after all. They changed their minds. So we're back to having 2 house payments. Yikes! My friend Ginger reminded me of Psalm 57:2 "I will cry to God Most High, to God who accomplishes all things for me." And Mike and I remind each other to breathe.
With so many obstacles and things not working out, we started to question again if we were even supposed to make this move. But each thing that would seem to make us turn back has happened because of someone not keeping their word, and if we changed our minds after 2 months, we wouldn't be keeping our word to the convention. And I don't think that's of God. So we're pressing on.
(breathe)
He's sick, by the way. Achy, sore throat, no energy. Not a good time for that...(breathe)
Did I mention this is our 7th move since we got married, and our 4th move in 20 months? (breathe)
Well, I'm going to find a box and pack some food and other stuff the movers won't do. Pray for us!
OH by the way--does anyone know a song with the phrase "it's Your approval I long for"? I keep singing that one phrase and can't remember the rest. It's driving me crazy!

This is your newfound blog friend at APFMW :-) Moving is so stressful. It just throws everything "off" and "out of balance". I'll be excited to hear about how the school thing works out for you. I'm glad we've crossed paths. Hang in there.
Search My Heart by Twila Paris
Is this the song?
Search my heart make me clean
It's Your approval I long for
Rule my life be my king
Do what You will
I belong to You
It's Your approval I long for
This is the entire song...I searched on the CCLI website by lyrics. There was also this one:
Rescue Me by David Levendusky
O Lord I desire
To walk before You with a pure heart
O Lord my desire
It is Your approval I long for
Rescue me from my sin
Let the blood of Jesus wash me once again
Rescue me let my life be a living love song
To You oh
I hope it's one of these! I know how frustrating that can be! I am praying for you friend...hang in there!
Thank you Margo!!! "Search my heart..." is EXACTLY the song I was looking for! I had googled the phrase, but didn't see it--you must have more patience than I do. It felt good to sing the whole song. Pray for us moving this week! Love you-
I know what you mean about moving--we have moved 6 times since we've been married, and 3 of those times was in a year's time. And only ONE of those times did we have movers, although we did have someone else pack for us one other time. But we still had to load and unload ourselves! Ugh--so stressful! I don't envy you at all.
