I've had fun taking pictures of my ornaments and writing about them, but it made me realize how much I love all of them! It was hard to pick just a few. So I didn't!
Some remind me of special people...
My college friend Mandy made this one for me...she's in heaven now.
My college roommate and forever friend Angie made this one for me...she's in Africa now.
My high school friend Amanda (who I got to reconnect with when we lived in Conway last year!) made this one for me.
Our next door neighbor of 8 years, in Idaho, made this for us, as well as a stained glass nativity! We love it.
My friend from junior high in San Diego, Alyssa, made this for me. And last week she sent me the cutest scarf her mother made! It was such a sweet surprise.
Mike's brother Jeff gave everyone in the family this sweet ornament the first Christmas after their Daddy passed away.
We also have ornaments that remind us of special places:
When I was a sophomore in college, we took a Spring Break mission trip to Quito, Ecuador. One of the elementary schools we visited presented each of us with a little clay man like this. Mine has hung on my tree every year since!
The area in Idaho we lived in is called the Palouse. It is made up of steeply rolling hills of wheat, peas, lentils. From an airplane it looks like a Sharpei puppy. This ornament is woven from Idaho wheat.
I got this one the summer after my sophomore year when I was a summer missionary in Vail, Colorado. It was a great summer--lots of happy memories. I've always loved this one.
I guess I should stop now, but it sure has been fun. For me, anyway. :) Wish you could all come visit and see the whole tree!

I love all your ornaments!! It makes me want to send you one :)
AWWW! I made it to the Christmas Ornament Hall of Fame! I had forgotten all about that ornament. My Aunt Nonie helped me make those. The one from Mandy made me sad. I think about her a lot.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! I LOVE YOU!
Kecia,
I accidentally found your blog when reading Steve and Joanna Lassiter's blog. And, I'm so glad I did---the ornament share was worth it all! I loved reading about each one. You sound just like me, as you shared about how special every ornament was and why it meant so much to you. I have 3 ornaments that hang on my tree every year that I've had since I was in 4th. grade! (and Hon, let me tell you, that was a lonnnnng time ago---1964 to be exact, 43 years ago!! My mom purchased them for me at a department store where she used to work. I still hang them very low, near the bottom of the tree, where I used to when I was little. One reason I did that was because candy could be placed inside them.)
As I said, I thoroughly enJOYed seeing each of the photos of your ornaments and hearing their stories. Thanks for sharing. I pray you have a blessed Christmas and New Year. (I see your mom occasionally at church. She was one of the BEST mentors at Apples of Gold last summer. I enJOYed how she taught "Loving your Husband." You're truly blessed!)
Love,
Pat Rains
