#21 on my happy list: child-operated refreshment stands.
Jessica, Mikayla, and their cousin Kennedi made "Ginger Osiek's Sugar Cookies" the other day, and all I did to help was measure the oil and vanilla (love my Mexican vanilla), supervise the eggs and the mixer, and put the trays in and out of the oven. They are delicious!!! They set up a stand in our front yard by the road and sold them for 30 cents apiece or 4 for $1. Made $3.05! Very satisfying. This picture shows them with our next-door neighbor at the exact moment a car started driving down the road.
Mikayla lost a tooth the other night. She'd been working on it for awhile, and she was showing Mike how she could pull it down so far you could see the hole it grew in--he (playfully) swatted her hand down as she held the tooth and it popped right out! She bled and hollered and cried, and he felt awful, and was holding her on his lap and asked her if she was mad at him, but she wasn't. She was glad it was out.
As if there wasn't enough change in our lives right now, I'm considering homeschooling my girls this fall. 95% sure. I've never even wanted to a little bit before, but ever since Margo told me she's going to, and I looked at her curriculum, I've been wanting to. Jessica and Mikayla are begging me to. I have to decide soon, because I have to register by August 15 with the local school district. My last lingering doubts are about my objectivity with them and will they miss that classroom setting and atmosphere, group learning & cooperation. hmm. Still thinking & praying.
2 more pictures: Jessica and Mikayla performing "High School Musical" with their hairbrushes, and Rebecca lounging in the sun in her very own pool. I love my girls!
