Disney Hollywood Studios

Tuesday morning we didn't get up quite as early, but still got to DHS pretty early in the day. The High School Musical 3 show was going on in front of the big sorceror's hat, and we all had fun dancing down the street, doing the Troy walk, and generally embarrassing our 12-year-old.

Our first priority that day was the Tower of Terror and Aerosmith's Rockin' Roller Coaster, so we got there as quickly as we could and rode them while Jessica and Rebecca got our fastpasses for Toy Story Mania. I loved every one of those rides. Mikayla did, too. SO. MUCH. FUN!! At Tower of Terror the castmembers all acted like hotel employees, and the ride is controlled randomly, by a computer I guess, so that it's different every time you ride it. When we went to ride it the second time, using our fast passes, the "bell hop" noticed Mikayla's birthday button and called the "front desk" requesting the birthday special. I don't know if it was coincidence or our imaginations or real, but the ride went way longer and was even more fun than the first time!! We ended up riding that and Rockin' Roller Coaster 3 times each. The third time was during "Extra Magic Hours," after the park was closed except to guests staying at Disney resorts, and it was almost closing time for that too. Well, we sat in the front seat of the roller coaster (which in this case was the best seat) and when we were unloading I said to the castmember, "Does the birthday girl get to ride twice in a row?" He looked at Mikayla and said, "Do you want to ride again?" When she grinned and nodded, he led us through a door and down a hallway to the front of the line!!! It was awesome. Jessica and Rebecca rode Toy Story Mania for the 2nd time while we did that. That was a cool ride, too.



We tried to see all the shows, but were getting worn out and frustrated, feeling like we were constantly going back and forth and just missing things, plus it started drizzling, so we focused on inside things, like getting characters' autographs at the Animation place. We were getting a little cranky, and weren't really sure that was what we wanted to do until Rebecca's face lit up and she exclaimed, "HANDY MANNY!" That settled it. We were also thrilled to see Jo Jo and Goliath, from her former favorite show "Jo Jo's Circus," because that show isn't even on anymore.
